Melbourne 2006

We are pleased to have continued our involvement with the Commonwealth Games at the 2006 Games in Melbourne. We built upon the firm foundation of GEMS 2.0, adding even more features and enhancements. Chief among these were interfaces with government security clearance and immigration agencies, volunteer interview scheduling, and a uniform management and distribution module.

Gold Medal Systems worked closely with Games staff to customize GEMS to meet the specific needs of the organizing committee. Key to the system was the synchronization of business processes and GEMS screens which helped to streamline many of the activities. We once again provided our expertise gained from many previous events and applied these lessons to situations specific to this Games.

Once again GEMS was seamlessly integrated with the Internet registration process. As well, the portal to the Games Volunteer Internet site was seamlessly integrated with the ability to pass data back and forth in real-time between the Games web site and GEMS. We also developed interfaces with many third party systems, including Workforce Scheduling, Workforce Training, Protocol, Arrivals and Departures, Inventory Management, and the Central Results System.

We are very proud of the key role we played in making the Melbourne Commonwealth Games the success that it was.

In Our Experience...

"GEMS never failed us...you made this part of the Commonwealth Games Volunteer Programme a breeze!"
